I had the pleasure of being a part of Startup Weekend Miami 2015. I think my best take away from Startup Weekends is training to work with different people and different personalities. As a social media and tech education entrepreneur, working with people is a must have skill. People are like a box of chocolates, you never know which you will get : P (Yes, I quote Forrest Gump and give it my own twist many times).
Different people attend Startup weekends for different reasons. Some people want to be the next big app discovery, some are there for business or personal networking reasons. I like tech, I’m there for many reasons. One is meeting smart people. Even if an idea doesn’t go past the weekend experience, you have made connections with like-minded tech people who you can work with on future projects. I would definitely recomend anyone in the tech field to take part in a Startup Weekend experience.
